When children play in the imaginative area, they learn social skills such as cooperation, turn-taking and sharing, as well as the important skills of language and vocabulary development. They also gain an understanding of the different roles played by adults and this helps them to begin to make sense of their world. This area is an important platform for development of imagination and a safe outlet for emotional expression.
The more time a young child spends exploring imaginative play, the more advanced their concentration skills become. Imaginative and creative games are essential in helping young children assimilate the environment around them and internalize the events in their world.
